If the gridBox is online and functioning properly but for any reason you want to reset it (for example, get a newer version), the user can request from their provider to reset it. This can only be done in XENON with the dedicated permissions (JobsResetWrite). Resetting deletes all gateway-specific data that is locally stored on it. Afterwards, the system still exists, but does not have a gateway associated with it.
β οΈ Attention
Performing a factory reset will erase all custom settings and local data on the device. Once initiated, this process cannot be undone. Ensure that a reset is actually required before proceeding.
Resetting a gridBox in XENON
Within XENON, go to the tab Overview and scroll down to Critical actions.
β
βIn the Gateway tile, click on Delete.
βAfter this, a dialog appears as shown below in which you need to copy and paste the serial number of the gridBox into a text field to confirm the factory reset.
β
After deleting the gridBox, the user is asked to enter the startcode of the new gridBox the next time they log in. The general information, like customer name, address etc. is saved.
Deleting a gridBox means that all the data that was stored on it is deleted completely and it is returned to its factory settings without any kind of information from the previous user. This allows another user to use the same gridBox without any breach of privacy. The system is not erased from XENON and a new gridBox can be connected to this system using the user credentials.
