How do I connect Solax X3 Ultra inverter?

Before you start

Before you begin, make sure:

  • You've physically installed the inverter and powered it on

  • You have the Solax pocket WiFi+LAN dongle


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Connect the inverter to the network

  1. Plug the pocket WiFi+LAN dongle into terminal E on the inverter (see diagram below)

  2. Connect the dongle to your local network with an Ethernet cable

  3. Verify the connection is established by checking the LED on the dongle or in the Solax app

2. Plug&Play discovery and configuration

This inverter supports Plug&Play, requiring no manual configuration. It is automatically detected during gateway commissioning and configured with the appropriate settings after connection.

3. Discover the inverter in the commissioning wizard

The inverter is now ready for the commissioning wizard. The gateway will scan the network to find available devices, which may take a few minutes. Once complete, the Solax X3 Ultra inverter will appear on the results page.

4. Connect the inverter to the gateway

After the scan completes and the inverter is discovered, click Next in the commissioning wizard to proceed to the connection screen. The inverter will connect automatically.


Frequently asked questions

Why isn't the inverter appearing in the commissioning wizard?

Check that the pocket WiFi+LAN dongle is properly inserted into terminal E on the inverter and connected to your network with an Ethernet cable. Restart the gateway and wait up to 5 minutes.

How do I update the firmware of the inverter?

Contact SolaX Service Support to obtain firmware files. The update is performed by inserting a USB stick into the inverter's upgrade port. For detailed step-by-step instructions, refer to the official SolaX documentation provided with the firmware files.

Where is the dongle terminal on the inverter?

Terminal E is labeled on the inverter. Check your inverter's documentation for its exact location.

Do I need to configure Modbus settings?
