Device communication troubleshooting (PPC - SMGW+)

Problem

The gridBox cannot establish a connection to the SMGW (Smart Meter Gateway).

Symptoms

  • The gridBox appears to be malfunctioning or displays an error message.

  • Data cannot be retrieved from the SMGW.

  • The connection to the SMGW is not established.

Cause

  • These symptoms suggest a connection problem between the gridBox and the SMGW. The cause can vary, including wiring issues, SMGW errors, or incorrect configurations.

Solution

  • Check basic connections: Ensure all cables between the gridBox and SMGW are properly and firmly connected.

  • Restart the SMGW: A simple SMGW restart can sometimes resolve connection problems. Power off the SMGW, wait a few seconds, and then power it back on.

  • Verify power supply: Ensure both the gridBox and SMGW are receiving adequate power.

  • Contact support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact our support team immediately.

EEBus asset pairing troubleshooting

Problem

The EEBus asset cannot be paired due to an error message.

Symptoms

  • The EEBus asset pairing fails.

  • An error message may be displayed (depending on the system).

Solution

  • Check basic connections: Ensure all cables and network connections are properly connected.

  • Restart affected devices: Restarting the devices (e.g., router, EEBus asset) can sometimes help.

  • Verify network settings: Ensure network settings are correct (e.g., IP address, subnet mask).

  • mDNS and AP isolation check: Check if mDNS is disabled on the router or switch or if AP isolation is enabled on the router.

  • Contact support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact our support team immediately.
